York University adopts TestWe
York University, the Canadian university based in Toronto is the first to adopt TestWe in North America!
After having tested the solution this July on a class of students, they realized TestWe answered their needs.
“How did TestWe help and what problem did it solve?” We asked Jeff Pinto, Manager of Educational Technology, Information Services & Technology at the Schulich School of Business, York University.
“We have a number of instructors eager to allow their students to type their exams rather than write them by hand. We have used other computer-based assessment tools but have had a difficult time finding a solution that is:
- intuitive (doesn’t require too much IT or instructor support);
- secure (adds an extra layer of security to our in-person proctored exams);
- cross-platform (supports both Mac and PC users); and
- reliable (little chance of students losing work).
We were impressed by both the performance of TestWe on the above dimensions and the support provided by the TestWe team. We look forward to implementing TestWe in the coming academic year.”
TestWe was unanimously approved by the teachers responsible for testing and implementing the solution internally and students who prefer a digital version to conventional paper.
As Jeff Pinto affirmed, the university is deploying the solution on several classes this september.
